Who We Are

Soleil Psychiatry group is experienced in building communities that are supportive, collaborative, enriching, and restorative. We build state-of-the-art psychiatry programs for our partners within the hospital’s infrastructure. We pride ourselves on not being investor or outside partner-driven but rather a highly specialized group practice that consistently delivers high-quality, evidence-based care and supports our patients and clinical partners well.

Dr. Arun Gopal, M.D. (Co-Owner)

Dr. Gopal earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where he took an interest in psychiatry and combating mental health stigmas through a holistic approach to patient care. That interest led him to a fellowship with the Clinton Foundation in India, where he worked with the CDC treating patients with HIV while also caring for their mental health. A psychiatry residency program at Harvard Medical School and a consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship at George Washington University followed, helping to foster a passion for treating patients in Emergency Rooms and Hospital Wards. With clinical experience under his belt, he began an administrative career in program development as the director for Consult Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then moved to California to do the same at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles prior to joining Access Telecare. Here he helped develop a robust virtual consultation and liaison psychiatry service, seeing it as an engine to get evidence-based treatments to more patients. He currently works as the Director of Quality and Safety, Associate Director for Inpatient Psychiatry, & Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at Los Angeles General Hospital and is on faculty at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. Through this journey, he has won numerous teaching awards at Penn and George Washington University, a Penn Innovations grant to develop a pro-active consult service, and has published. Included in the literature is a pioneering manuscript and case study in the field of virtual consultation-liaison psychiatry.

Hailey Battle, NP (Co-Owner)

NP Battle earned her undergraduate degree at New York University, where her love for clinical psychology and mental health began. She then earned her master’s degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she trained in emergency, consultation liaison, and inpatient psychiatry. After graduating, she was recruited as the first Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner on the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team at Community Hospital in Monterey, California. There, she continued her Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry training and helped develop a new pathway for NP CL Training and onboarding, as well as provided preceptorship to Physician Assistant Students at the local university. She then moved to Colorado as her husband was re-stationed to Fort Carson, where she was recruited to Access Telecare (Formerly SOC Telemed). At ATC, she became the lead CL Psych NP under Dr. Gopal. Her passion includes research and developing innovative ways to deliver evidence and value-based care to hospital partners. As an active member of ACLP, she presented a case study at the Academy of Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry’s 2024 Annual Meeting. In a year with the lowest acceptance rate in the history of the guild for submissions, her work highlighted how our virtual care model can truly provide integrated and high-quality care.

Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry:

Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry is a subspecialty in psychiatry that focuses on supporting patients with complex behavioral and medical needs. In addition, it’s dedicated to improving the quality of care for patients in the Emergency Room to ensure safe, evidence-based, and timely care is delivered.

We are all proud members of the Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. Not only serving on committees but also contributing to the academic fund of knowledge. We have deep ties to this guild in our identity seeing it as a source of high quality guidelines, support, and a braintrust in helping us treat some of the most challenging patients in the health system.

Join our Team!

The foundational principle for us is community. We focus on both structural and relational innovations to make the virtual world mirror the in person physical world of care delivery. We ensure on day one a team member gets a mentor but beyond this, we want to build a culture of trust, camaraderie, and integrity. We want clinicians to be present and content, seeing this as key in achieving good patient outcomes and strong clinical partnerships with care teams on the ground. Without this, there is less job satisfaction and sense of pride.
